At the beginning of October Mike and I went to Santa Monica, CA to celebrate our four year anniversary. Even though Ava got sick the night before we left, we still enjoyed our weekend get a way, we just had to do things more on her schedule, isn't that the life of being parents?!?
Our first stop was this quaint beach cafe right on the beach in Malibu. This cafe had the best views of the ocean and we got to enjoy them while eating our lunch. Mike definitely did his research and we loved the beautiful drive up the Pacific Coast Highway! We spent most of the day Saturday at the beach, it was Ava's first time in the water (well with Mike carrying her of course).

Later that night we checked into our hotel,which was gorgeous and right on the beach, and let Ava rest up a little bit. Then we went out to Baja Cantina, which was a delicious Mexican restaurant and walked along the ocean. The next morning we ate breakfast and walked along the beach and people watched, my favorite!
All in all it was a wonderful weekend and am I glad we were able to spend it together as a family. Here's to many more years and memories!
